HEEEEEEYYY dolls! So I’m super excited that SoPhi Weekend is only one week away. I’m just about done packing, but I’m still missing a pair of shoes that will round out my wardrobe for the weekend. This has been about a two month project that I’m sure @msjerseygirl and @phillytheboss are tired of hearing about (the damn struggle), but they love me so they listen. Anywho, after assessing my shoe collection and reviewing what I have packed, I finally determined I need a pair of floral shoes. Florals are definitely trending right now and they are a great way to add some fun and whimsy to your look. The problem is they can look a bit grandmom-ish if you’re not careful (so please be careful). Check out my favorite looks for this trend that will have you looking fab (and not like you wrapped your foot in a doilie).
Betsey Johnson “Malene”
Now this is how you do a bootie in the summer! The light colors and light fabric are perfect for this time of year and can even transition into early fall. While other designers are just hopping on this trend-wagon, Betsey Johnson has been using floral prints in her designs for years and with this bootie, she does it flawlessly.
Steve Madden “Marlenee”
I’m not a huge fan of ankle straps (especially if you’re a petite girl, as they make your legs look shorter), but I decided to overlook that here. The juxtaposition of the bright colors and bold print with the simple design is brilliant. Not to mention, they are extremely versatile; they can go from Ocean Drive to KOD and back. I think these will wearable even after the floral trend has passed; definitely worth the $100 investment.
Jimmy Choo “Lira”
$400 bergdorfgoodman.com (SALE ALERT!)
Let’s be honest with ourselves for a minute…Jimmy Choo really can do no wrong. I love these because they are elegant without being boring. I envision them with a cute cocktail dress at a tea party or an outdoor wedding. They retail for $795 so if you have a spare $400…go for it (also available on neimanmarcus.com for $532)
In order to expedite the loss of these last five pounds before next week, I haven’t had an alcoholic beverage all week. Those of you, who know me, know that’s quite impressive. My self-imposed prohibition has left me feeling a tad nostalgic, so I decided to give yall a throwback from my college days. It’s an oldy, but goody.
SEX ON THE BEACH
1-½ oz Vodka
½ oz Chambord
½ oz Peach Schnapps
In a Highball glass, filled with ice, combine vodka, Chambord and Peach Schnapps. Top of with equal parts pineapple and cranberry juice. Garnish with a cherry. There are some variations out there for this drink, but mine is best…trust me. CHEERS!
Until next time…
