Hey guys and gals! Did you all have a fantastic week? So much has happened in the past week. First, I got my grad school acceptance letter! Yaaay! Second, I bought a car which was looooooooong overdue (ask @phillytheboss and @msjerseygrl) and last, but not least my cousin launched her jewelry website SimonYvetteJewelz . Make sure yall check out her site and follow her on IG: SimoneYvetteJewelz.
Now, on to shoes. As yall can tell by the back-to-school commercials, Autumn is around the corner. I know it’s depressing to think about saying good bye to beach days and warm nights, but there is a silver lining. FALL has the BEST fashion! Call me crazy, but I love shopping for leather jackets, cable knit sweaters, scarves, knees boots and jeans. I know I’m getting ahead myself as we are not quite there yet. However, in the interim, we must prepare ourselves (and warbrobe) for the transition from summer to Fall. Here are some ideas to help you navigate this tricky challenge with ease.
Technically a sandal, Elista provides enough foot coverage to be worn on a cooler night, but is airy enough to be worn while it’s warm out. I love the dominatrix feel with all the black straps and the tassels on the back…super sexy (don’t judge me). Pair these with a mini dress/mini skirt or some short shorts. DO NOT make these beauties fight for attention under a pair of jeans. Show em off and show off ya gams at the same.damn.time.
I adore these. Unfortunately, they look dumb as hell on my little calves. If I had legs like Jill Scott or Queen Latifah I would be outside strutting with these on…sans clothing (again, don’t judge me). Again, we have a shoe/boot/sandal that provides coverage, but is still open. Perfect paired with a freekum dress for girls’ night out or paired with nothing for a night in with ya boo thang (wink!)
Trend alert! Olive and other darker greens are big for Fall. These are just too freaking cute (and they look great on me, BONUS!) These look great with jeans, but opt for a skinny or straight leg (in you refuse to wear skinny jeans). They work well with slacks or skirts as well, so you can go from work to play in them. And once again, for my petite readers, try with a knee length or shorter skirt to elongate those legs.
This weeks drink is honor of my friend @_Peez_. I was determined to find a drink I could tolerate with Hennessy in it.
Mr. Perfect Manhattan
2 oz Hennessy
½” oz sweet vermouth
¼” Grand Marnier
Combined all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with orange twist or cherry…both if you’re perfect. Enjoy!
Until next time…
