The spring runways were practically a citrus festival—Lacoste’s sporty pumpkin separates, Versace’s mahogany (yes mahogany is a cousin of orange) suits, Marc Jacobs’s coral-colored silks. Orange is vivid, it’s energizing…and you may be wondering how to pull it off without looking like a can of Orange Crush.
Simple: Tone it down a tad with a dark neutral, or marry it with a lively complementary shade.
Before you say “I don’t think orange will look good on me” Those with dark, olive, or tanned skin can pick from the whole Tropicana spectrum.
Orange urges you to get out into the world and create something grand! (or maybe that’s just how I feel when I wear it)
Orange is a very high energy color. Its creativity juices are extremely intoxicating and sweet tasting (No I didn’t make that up! lol). Wearing orange is fun and can make you feel quite playful. Artists love dabbling with orange hues.
Orange screams with sexual energy too, (now I’ve got your attention) not surprising since orange is associated with the sacral chakra. Because of its highly-charged intensity some people cannot comfortably wear this color. Adorning yourself with an orange accent piece can add a hint of playfulness.
Beware, if you need to complete a time sensitive project avoid wearing orange as it might interfere with the stick-to-it-ness required to stay on task 🙂
Take a walk with me down the orange brick road and let’s count the ways you can introduce orange to your wardrobe!
Orange hues are beautiful on any shade of skin.. find your shade and run with it.
If the thought of too much orange freaks you out try a look with a splash of orange.
Look! Even the 1st Lady is getting in on the action
A soft top and a bright bottom is the perfect marriage when it comes to vivid colors
Bonus: Beyoncé wore it so that settles it.
My favorite part about wearing orange is there are no rules.. whether it’s a dress, top, a handbag or good ole fashion color blocking orange manages to light up anyone who wears it. I challenge you to see how you can implement orange into your wardrobe and make it your own. Remember the world is you runway.. get out there and show them what you got. xoxo
